01 Confidential Conversation
A call. Not a directory listing. Not an admissions script.
We are listening for four things: whether anyone needs medical care we cannot provide in a residence, who lives in the house, what the work and travel calendar will actually allow, and whether privacy is a preference or a hard constraint.
The using person does not have to be the one who books the call. Many first conversations are with a spouse, a parent, or the adult who still lives at home and is done covering.
You do not need a polished narrative. City, constraints, and who we should speak with first is enough.
02 Assessment in Context
A questionnaire written for a campus will miss the rooms that matter here.
Assessment means the home, the week, the bag that travels, the landing after a late flight, the hour after the house goes still, and the family system that has already been running a night watch.
We look at what has been tried. We look at what cannot happen because of a company, a public schedule, a custody order, or a child down the hall. We look at whether the residence can hold the work, or whether a medical setting has to come first.
If we are the wrong door, we say so. Sending the wrong team into a house is not discretion. It is a mess.
The Rooms
Where the pattern actually lives — kitchen, office, guest wing, car, second unit — not a generic trigger list.
The Calendar
Work blocks, school runs, travel, the dinners that are really work. A Plan that ignores the calendar will be ignored.
The People
Who already knows. Who is covering. Who must NOT be turned into staff.
03 In-Home Intensive OR Live-out Reset
Live-in:
A counselor is in the residence for a defined window. The day gets a spine: counseling, movement, meals, work with edges, family conversations that are scheduled instead of detonated, a night that ends. Someone is in the room when the old hour arrives.
~
Live-out:
The counselor is not sleeping down the hall. The week is still built and attended. Sessions, check-ins, and presence where the risk actually is — the first night after a landing, the dinner that always turns, the empty house on a Thursday.
Neither version is a spa week. The liquor store is still on the way home. The office still glows. That is the point. We are changing the life while the life is happening.
~
